Lundberg Family Farms

Posted in: Commercial Projects

Todd Jersey Architecture is designing the headquarters for Lundberg Family Farms, a company that is celebrating over 70 years of environmental stewardship. The building design takes its cues from the region's traditional barns and their modern, clear-framed steel counterparts, and incorporates green building features that benefit staff, visitors and the environment.

Drawing inspiration from the traditional barns, the building uses large overhangs of 12'-20' to provide solar relief for outdoor public spaces and improvised events. These overhangs reduce the solar gain of its walls and windows, while allowing day lighting and permitting views to the outside. An abundance of clerestory glazing evenly distributes indirect, full spectrum daylight to the interior office area, creating a pleasant work environment while reducing electrical loads.

The building's landscaping uses vegetated swales to reduce contaminants and site storm water runoff. And the visitor center will educate visitors on the importance of organic farming.
