SPINELLI COFFEE, SAN FRANCISCO AND CORTE MADERA, CA
Todd Jersey Architecture designed five San Francisco Bay Area stores for Spinelli Coffee Company (now Tully’s). Locations included Cole Street/SF, Crocker Galleria/SF, Embarcadero Center/SF and Corte Madera/Marin County. These projects demonstrate our ability to design elegant interior space on restricted budgets at about half the typical budget for a rival coffee store. The Spinelli stores were also among the first commercial retail stores in the United States to use FSC-certified hardwood for their cabinetry.
The location on Cole Street in San Francisco combined two separate commercial spaces into a single space on the ground level of an early 20th century commercial/ residential mixed-use building. When first opened, this restoration had a new mosaic tile entry apron, a rebuilt storefront and a custom made axial blade fan with an interior reminiscent of early 20th Century dry goods stores.
