Architectural Designer

We are currently seeking an experienced architectural designer with exemplary project management skills to co-lead the growth of the residential division of the firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting generating leads as well as qualifying projects and creating, evaluating and evolving designs to meet the needs of our clients. We focus on affordable, sustainable architecture so we are looking for a licensed architect with at least 5 years of experience in wood-frame construction and crafting elegant solutions within client budgets. Responsibilities

  • Qualify project leads based on criteria provided by Todd Jersey Architecture

  • Create architectural designs based on client input and feedback

  • Prepare and execute client contracts based on consultation

  • Adjust contracts and designs to meet the needs of clients

  • Draft designs that reflect green building values and support our beautiful, affordable, sustainable design ethos

  • Fluency with planning and building codes and Universal Design standards

  • Communicate with contractors and consultants to implement designs

  • Oversee and manage architectural production staff

  • Project manage all aspects of assigned projects

Qualifications

  • 5+ years working in residential architectural design, specifically wood-frame construction

  • Residential construction detailing experience, including strong familiarity with the California Residential Building Code

  • Skilled project management skills with knowledge of and experience with obtaining planning and building department approvals and permits.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture

  • Experience with AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit

  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills

  • Willingness to travel within a 60-mile radius

  • Team work ethic and commitment to positive outcomes
