Bay Area Community Land Trust, 12th Avenue Apartments, Oakland, CA

Originally built as a single-family Victorian mansion in the late 1800’s and altered to a six unit building in the 1990’s, this project involves remodeling the entire structure and updating and improving all of its mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems. An ADU is also being added to the attic space as a 7th unit. This project is being updated with LEED Gold levels of green performance and sustainability with a minimum 50-year lifespan for all systems. This project of the Bay Area Community Land Trust is funded by the City of Oakland, Measure KK Acquisition & Conversion to Affordable Housing Program because if prevents the displacement of current low-income residents and increases the stock of quality, affordable housing.
